A family of four from Sydney, Erin and Russell and their children, Riley and India have experienced more than their fair share of tough times. Since Russell suffered a stroke in 2004, Erin has nursed him through a partial rehabilitation, often working two jobs to keep the family afloat.
In 2007, Erin was diagnosed with a rare form of pancreatic cancer. This has required three major surgeries to remove most of her pancreas and liver as well as her gall bladder. With Erin’s illness, looking after Russell and working two jobs, maintenance of the family’s small two bedroom house has become a low priority.
Domestic Blitz decided to step in and make Erin and Russell’s life a bit easier with a home renovation. As part of the team, A-Plan was asked to relocate and transform the kitchen.
Before Installation
The old kitchen was cramped and cluttered with no working space. There was simply no room to move.
After Installation
The new kitchen was relocated to another room providing more space, light and heaps more storage. This allowed freedom to incorporate an L-shaped design featuring a stunning Laminex Square Edge 50 mm Diamond Gloss Bench top in Stipple Seal.
The cabinet doors are finished in Form-Tek Ultra Glaze Artic White and Blum Aventos lift-up hinges allow easy access to the new pantry and microwave. Extra drawers beneath the main bench top with Blum Metabox inserts provide much needed storage for kitchen and household items.
The kitchen was designed, manufactured and installed in 5 working days at a value of $11,000 including all cabinets, bench tops, doors and fittings.
